Moving out of Kalifornia to Reno ~ Need a Job and House Whats the first step to take?

I will be moving to Reno April 1, 2008. I will be needing a job before i go. How do i go about this? I have looked on the Internet and researched some of the Casinos but i am scared to move with out a job or a place to live. Need Advise HELP
