Why don't I qualify for SSDI? I have been diagnosed with glaucoma and cataracts in both eyes.?

I can't afford the eye drops or the surgery to remove the cataracts. Both conditions lead to blindness. I rec'd a disabled bus p so why can't I receive help from Social Security? I do work 37 hrs/wk.
